Only in its first year, Craft Cocktails Texas has produced a heavy hitting line up for Dallas Cocktail Week.
The culmination of the entire 4-day event is the U.S. Bartenders’ Guild Competition to be held at Dallas Main Street Gardens on Saturday June 16th. In addition to the plethora of craft cocktails that will be on had (made by some of the finest mixologists in the country), there will be music from some of the fastest rising stars in Texas. We are happy to announce that among them will be Dallas’s very own Kirby Brown! Here’s a quick biography from Kirby:
Hailing from The South (west of the Mighty Mississippi, north of the Rio Grande), Kirby Brown is an artist. With a stormy childhood scattered from the foothills of Arkansas to the farm-towns of East Texas, the roots are in him deep. He cut his teeth on Gospel music, was weaned on Twain and Whitman, became a man with The Stones on the radio. With the deeply-felt candor of the storyteller at a campfire and the fiery presence of an actor in his prime, Kirby Brown is authentic and engaging. His work is nothing short of original– a memorable picture of depth and beauty and honesty in a less-than-golden age.
My name is Kirby Brown, and I hope you’ll dig what I do. I am an: artist, creator, poet, writer, singer, actor, and musician. I grew up in a small town; I started writing when I was seven or eight, started writing songs at nineteen. I moved into the city; I started playing shows, growing up, messing up, sucking it up, and lucking out.
